From a technical standpoint, the car has evolved naturally, if we consider that the previous generation was launched in 2002. The new Touareg is easier with 200 kg, impressive for any car, but very important for a SUV. And its consumption, fell on average by 20%. And what is most important is that the Germans kept the off-road character of this car, despite environmentalists that prefer instead the term crossover. The new Touareg will also have the hybrid version, equipped with a V6 engine. Not least among the news to the Touareg II, there’s an 8-speed automatic gearbox, a first for this segment. (Seoul) February 11, 2010 – Kia Motors America (KMA) today unveiled the Ray Plug-in Hybrid concept during a press conference at the 2010 Chicago Auto Show, advancing the momentum of Kia Motors’ global alternative fuel and powertrain research program, and its sub-brand coined “EcoDynamics,” to develop innovative fuel-stretching and emissions-cutting technologies. The most efficient Kia vehicles with significant fuel consumption and emission reductions developed under the EcoDynamics sub-brand will be identified with the EcoDynamics badge. Recently, the EcoDynamics sub-brand took a major step forward with the introduction of the Kia Borrego Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) followed by the Forte LPI Hybrid, the gasoline Kia cee’d Hybrid and the twin-turbo diesel Kia Sorento Hybrid. Fourth Generation of the Highly Successful Business Touring Presented to the Public for the First Time at the 2010 Auto Mobil International (AMI).
Volkswagen has revealed the first pictures and informations about their second generation of Touareg SUVs, the first car in this segment for the German company.
The Volvo V70 is now offered with Volvo’s two new five-cylinder diesel engines. The engines are a perfect combination of low fuel consumption, high performance and low noise levels. In addition, there are three V70 DRIVe models available as well. One with a 1.6-litre diesel and two Flexifuel (E85) versions; the 2.0F and 2.5FT.
